Do carpet installers move furniture?

Yes! Carpet installers do move furniture. However, this will come at an additional cost — which can vary from home to home and from installer to installer.

Due to their delicate nature or the sheer weight of the items, there are specific pieces of furniture that installers will not move. This can include the following items:

  • Pianos
  • Furniture over a specific weight limit
  • Furniture that must be removed with tools
  • Hutches

As far as cost is concerned, you can expect to spend anywhere from $50 to $500 more for furniture removal. This will depend on how many rooms you need furniture removed from and how much furniture is in these rooms. If you’re redoing an entire home with large pieces of furniture, this cost could even go up to as much as $1,000. On average, however, one room will typically be somewhere around $150.
